U-Boat, Episode 22: Target Rich Environment (Triage)
Boris had 4 guardians +onerios, hic, a couple of legions, a couple of proteus, a loki or two and a damnation. T2 was not their home system but we had eyes in T2 and when I asked the scout, we even checked their home system for possible backup. There wasn’t any visible.
However I was suspicious because someone pointed out these are the same guys that lost to our disorganization last time (U-21) and wanted a rematch. I suspected they are prepared to fight a dread blaping fleet this time so i was against fielding one. We had aprox. 12 people online at the time, so matching their guardian count was suboptimal.
I suggested we could go in with one triage, because from what I have seen and heard the scout report, they probably wouldnt be able to break me directly, and even if they did I made sure we had at least one more triage archon on stand by.
We organized in the following fashion:
3 neuting legions
Legions and ecm had one goal – kill the guardians or disrupt them in every way possible.
We went in, triage first, we timed it great because we landed at the same time. I went into triage, Heanari started calling targets.
They had no alpha what so ever, so I was keeping up with reps the whole time, watching my cap closely, even doing things like keeping people at half armor so the hostiles keep them primary.
They started jumping people in and out, and brought more legions in.
They had at least 5 legions neuting me which at their peak efficiency put me down to around 35% capacitor but I was still fine.
They started splitting dps among 3 different people, so i had a bit of a guitar hero moment, trying to keep up and keep our own neuts and ecm and cap heavy dps fed on energy but nothing too drastic.
They were struggling to stay on the field, at which point I decided to call in the second triage archon – so that I could coast out of triage, recharge some of my cap and roundtrip the wormhole.
However I wasn’t clear enough and the second carrier warped directly to the wormhole (pre aligned, the bubble was down). At this point we decided to simply rountrip the second archon and keep me in triage.
Reducing the mass of course had the goal of preventing them from bringin in more support. We started winning this fight and we didnt want them to suddently shift power into their side.
The second archon jumped back to H and the wormhole has collapsed. Now we had them.
We called for a couple of reships, to get HICs of our own to keep points on them, to murder as many as we can.
We got our bubbles on the field, dropped 3 guardians, everyone was doing great up to this point.
Shit hit the fan
“Third party on field!”
It was aztech, with a 20 man t3+guardian fleet of their own. We were surprised and confused as to who they decide to help, if anyone. It quickly turned out to be Boris.
They primed our legions, put something like a dozen neut legions on me. I dropped into low armor, people started dying, I called for Awulfs archon to go into triage as I was about to finish my cycle, so he could rep me. He did, I was saved, started locking up people without triage, but it was pretty much over at this point because they had something like 47 people on field. Awulf’s arhon dropped before it could exit triage, I went into triage for one more cycle to keep everyone that was still on field alive and maybe get them a chance to get out, but too many bubbles and points were on field. I dropped.
